Professional Training Program
All applications must be submitted and candidates accepted before the start of the January-Feburary, May-June or Sept-October sessions
Professional Training in Mindfulness-Based Interventions
A training program for professionals in healthcare, education, or human resources interested in learning how to develop and run a mindfulness program, designed to provide health care practitioners with an introduction to the process of developing mindfulness skills and an understanding of mindfulness-based interventions.
Level I – Theory and Philosophy of Mindfulness Practices
Readings will include historical origins of mindfulness practices and current conceptualizations of mindfulness.
– Fundamentals of Mindfulness-based Practice
(1) participation in the 8-week Core Program (see description). Applicants must be accepted into the Training Program BEFORE participating in the Core Program as a participant/observer.
(2) a weekend non-residential Training Retreat
Level II – Co-facilitator Training
Participants in this level will have the opportunity to begin leading groups with the primary
facilitators. They will be conducting guided meditations, inquiries, incorporating bodywork into
each class, and leading mindfulness exercises. Additional experience will be available in conducting intakes for the courses and facilitating the
Alumni Program.
