Our Core Practices
Understanding
We practice developing clarity so that we gain insight to our connections with ourselves and others. As we develop understanding of the mind-body relationship, we feel less at the mercy of the thoughts, sensation, and emotions that arise in each moment.
Concentration
The distraction and mental dispersal in our everyday life can keep us from living fully and skillfully. We practice developing steadiness in action, speech, and thoughts so that we have confidence in our decisions and the skills we need to deal with life moment-by-moment.
Mindfulness
We practice engaging with life by developing the intention to connect with our own experience and with our relationships. We practice paying attention to the entire experience of feelings and sensations. We practice taking a compassionate stance or attitude to our experience so that we do not fall in negative cycles or habits. Developing healthy habit patterns that support a personal ethic of respect and care benefits us and others.
